Falkland Road 2020+

A series of AI created images mounted on starred aluminium foil. The images are created around the idea of an updated version of the haunting early 80s photodocumentation "Falkland Road" by Mary Ellen Mark.

Falkland Road in Mumbay, used to be home to (partly underage) girls and women working as prostitutes. The series, the women portrayed & the accompanying accounts of their stories made a very strong impression on me - I tried to process this hard-to-grasp niche of harsh reality through creating a fictitious series of updated inhabitantesses.
